Falls County Misdemeanors Court November

Press Release

On October 28, 2020, Judge Jay Elliott convened Falls County Court to hear misdemeanor cases. The following cases were disposed of, others were rest.

Class A Misdemeanors

Allen Nelson, 23, from Lott, pled guilty to Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Member. He was sentenced to 67 days confinement in the Falls County Jail with credit for 31 days. He was ordered to pay court costs. Nelson was arrested on August 8, 2018, by Rosebud Police Department. 

Sanmay Patel, 33, from Harbourside, pled guilty to DWI 1st BAC>=0.15. He was sentenced to 1-year confinement in the Falls County Jail. His sentence was suspended, and he was placed on 2 years’ probation. He assessed a $2,000.00 fine and he was ordered to pay court costs. Patel was arrested on March 16, 2020, by Texas Department of Public Safety.  

Daniel Lee Castilleja,34, from Rosebud, pled guilty to Driving While Intoxicated BAC>=0.15. He was sentenced to 6 months confinement in the Falls County Jail. His sentence was suspended, and he was placed on 18 months’ probation. He assessed a $2,000.00 fine. He was ordered to pay court costs. Castilleja was arrested on September 27, 2019, by Texas Department of Public Safety.   

Kendra Nicole Betters, 33, from Lott, pled guilty to Resist Arrest Search or Transport. She was sentenced to 60 days confinement in the Falls County Jail with credit for 30 days. She was ordered to pay court costs. Betters was arrested on March 1, 2020. By Lott Police Department. 

Class B Misdemeanors

Whitney Layne Jackson, 34, from Marlin, pled guilty to possession of marijuana less than two ounces. She was placed on 12 months deferred probation. She assessed a $500.00 fine. She was ordered to pay court costs. Jackson was arrested on July 27, 2020, by Marlin Police Department.

Trista Joy Lathern, 35, from Marlin, pled guilty to Theft of Property>$100<$750. She was sentenced to 10 days confinement in the Falls County Jail with credit for 10 days. She was ordered to pay court costs. Lathern was arrested on August 31, 2019, by Lott Police Department.

Antonio Velasquez, Jr, 43, from Marlin, pled guilty to Possession of Marijuana less than two ounces. He was sentenced to 3 days confinement in the Falls Count Jail with credit for 3 days. He assessed a $500.00 fine. He was ordered to pay court costs. Velasquez was arrested on July 2, 2020, by Falls County Sheriff’s Office.  

Guillermo Espinoza who had been placed on misdemeanor probation for the offense of possession of marijuana less than two ounces, was revoked and sentenced to 30 days confinement in the Falls County Jail with credit for 4 days. Espinoza was arrested on August 21, 2018, by Falls County Sheriff’s Office.
