Henson invited to the inaugural 100 Superintendents March

Marlin ISD Superintendent Dr. Darryl Henson is one of only 100 superintendents nationwide to be invited to the inaugural “100 Superintendent March” in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, March 30.

The invitation, extended by the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents [ALAS] Board of Directors, along with the National Alliance of Black School Educators, will provide voice from the nation’s top educational leaders in a Congressional Briefing.

“I am both humbled and honored to be invited to the inaugural superintendent march by both ALAS and NASBE,” Dr. Henson said. “We rely on our legislators to sustain an educational system that can provide the very best learning experiences for children. Any time I can be an advocate for students in Marlin ISD and the greater community, I will proudly use my experiences and my voice.”

The intent of the inaugural march is to uplift critical educational priorities at the national level, including social, emotional and academic wellbeing, staff shortages, and equity. Educational leaders will also attend sessions hosted by the U.S Department of Education on funding processes and priorities.

The Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents [ALAS] is founded on the need for increased Latino leadership representation in schools across the nation.

ALAS cultivates all leaders committed to ensuring equitable outcomes for all students with an emphasis on Latino youth.

The National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE) is the nation’s premier non-profit organization devoted to furthering the academic success for the nation’s children – particularly children of African descent.
