Interim Police Chief named

Detective James Hommel was selected as the Interim Chief of The Marlin Police Department during a specially called board meeting on Monday, June 1.
Hommel, who is a former Police chief for the City of Oakwood and a former Sheriff’s Deputy in Madison County, began with the Marlin Police department just one short month ago.
The law enforcement officer has more than 30 years of experience.
He will be temporarily taking the place of Lawrence McCall while the City of Marlin begins exploring options for a more permanent solution.
McCall left the department amidst controversy, but has big expectations for the future of the City of Marlin.
