Isn’t our tractor sexy?

The Marlin Agriculture Science Department took delivery of a new McCormick X1.35 Tractor, to be used at the Marlin School Farm. After looking at several makes and models of tractors the Marlin agriculture classes used the equipment data to determine the best tractor to purchase.

This was a great learning experience for the students in looking at data to make a major purchase. This activity should stay with them and give them some guidance making major purchases after they graduate. The tractor was purchased locally, which was another factor the students considered, from TexStar Equipment Sales here in Marlin. Jason Hahn, with TexStar, was extremely helpful in working with the students and the school in the purchase of the tractor and front-end loader.
