Jacqueline Sanders Withdraws from Marlin ISD School Board Race
Jacqueline Sanders, candidate for the Marlin Independent School District Board of Trustees, District 2, has announced her decision to withdraw from the upcoming election.
Sanders expressed appreciation for the support and encouragement she received from community members during her candidacy and shared that the decision was made after careful consideration.
“Over the past several weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with members of the community and engage in meaningful conversations about the future of our schools,” Sanders said. “I am truly grateful for the trust and support that has been shown.”
While stepping away from the race, Sanders emphasized that her commitment to the Marlin community and its students remains unchanged. She has already begun exploring initiatives focused on expanding access to higher education opportunities for local students, as well as developing pathways to support future educators through “grow your own” programming.
Sanders also plans to continue fostering community engagement through local events and partnerships aimed at strengthening connections among families, educators, and community members. She has an upcoming event on April 18, Marlin Art in the Park, at Apple Sport Park aimed exactly at those efforts; and is free for the community to attend.
“I believe deeply in the potential of Marlin—its students, its families, and its future,” Sanders said. “I look forward to continuing this work and contributing in meaningful ways.”
Sanders currently serves as a member of the Marlin Economic Development Corporation and works professionally in student affairs and child advocacy, bringing more than 25 years of experience supporting children, families and educational systems.
