Juneteenth Club celebrates forty fifth annual commemorative event

Juneteenth, otherwise known as “Freedom Day”, is the oldest known celebration that commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States.
However, it did not become an official national holiday until New Year’s Day of 1980.
