Local Church delivers to those in need

It was a dream of a hometown lady, Ms. Beverly Ellis to have an open pavillion where families could come and picnic, where the townspeople could get food, coats and blankets. She dreamed of a playground where the children could play. Sadly, Ms. Beverly wouldn’t see her dream come to reality. She lost her fight with cancer in 2016, but her husband Reverend Eddie Ellis has not given up.  He has started making her dreams come true. In June of this year, seeing the need for the service in the community Rev. Ellis, members of St. Paul’s Church, and volunteers stepped up and started giving out food to the needy families in Falls County.  The food give away started with about 5,000 pounds of food  a week and has grown to include not only Falls County but now includes Mexia, Coolidge, Hubbard, and the Estella Maxey projects in Waco where they give about 400 people who are in need food to eat.
