Lott PD officer involved in accident

At approximately 5 p.m. on July 21 a Lott Police Department officer was involved in a crash at the intersection of Highway 77 and Highway 320. 

The officer was heading southbound on Highway 77 passing through the intersection when he was struck on the driver-side rear quarter panel by a motorist who failed to stop at the stop sign. 

When the unit was struck it spun around into the northbound lane and the other vehicle involved came to rest at the Lott Stop Convenience Store. 

The officer was then transported to the hospital via ambulance to get checked out. Both vehicles sustained a significant amount of damage. All parties involved are OK. 

This accident/investigation was conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety and was captured on video by dash cam and store surveillance.
