Marlin Alumni, Breiman Alexander earns NAIA All-Star Game MVP honors

Oklahoma Panhandle State University men’s basketball senior guard Breiman Alexander, of Marlin, put on a recordsetting shooting show to earn the Most Valuable Player award at the 2019 NAIA All-Star Game at Municipal Auditorium.

Alexander helped his West team to the 111-107 victory over the East squad by setting an All-Star Game record by making six threepoint baskets (besting the previous record of five in the game, set in 2014). Overall, Alexander was 6-for-8, finishing the game with 18 points.

Alexander’s performance is even more impressive considering that he was on the court for about 18 total minutes, as the coaches made sure all 15 players on the roster received similar playing time. He buried three treys in each half.
