Marlin City Hall employees test positive for COVID-19

Several employees at Marlin City Hall have tested postive for COVID-19.

Mayor Carolyn Lofton announced in a statement yesterday that they learned of the positive tests and other employees were being tested yesterday and today.

City Hall is being sanitized by the Fire Department routinely and will continue to be," Lofton said "We cannot mandate anyone from the public to wear masks due to state regulations. However, we will be posting that we "strongly recommend wearing a mask" due to potential for exposure within City Hall."

Lofton said the police department facility will be closed to the public until further notice.

She said all city staff will wear masks when greeting the public until further notice. Masks and sanitizer will be available to anyone entering city hall.

"I wanted to make you the public aware of these developments in case you visit City Hall," she said. "Due to HIPAA guidelines, the names of those affected cannot be released. Have a great week and stay safe."
