Marlin City Manager survives council votes
Marlin Mayor John Keefer called City Council into an executive session Tuesday, Feb. 19, to discuss the job status of City Manager Alan Grindstaff. The closed door session lasted all of 22 minutes before Keefer’s reconvening the council meeting.
Immediately, Councilman Scotty Henderson made a motion to call for a vote of no confidence on Grindstaff, but the motion failed when Mayor Keefer paused for a few seconds before he cast the deciding no vote on the motion.
However, Keefer told the Democrat, “It will be on the next agenda” in reference to the future of the relationship between the city and Grindstaff. Keefer told Waco media he and Grindstaff share a different vision for the city.
