Marlin ISD Closed until March 30
Marlin ISD officials are meeting later today to make final decisions concerning the district and how COVID-19 will impact the student's education.
It is certain that the schools will be closed next week, and possibly longer, with the "State of Disaster" declared by Mayor Carolyn Lofton.
Education will not cease during this time.
Administrators are gathering information to get alternative instruction methods in place.
This may include Google classroom usage or printed packets, depending on the student's technological capabilities at home. These are expected to be ready for use by Monday, March 23.
Nutrition services will be available (on a "to-go" basis) for all Marlin SD students, starting Monday as well.
There are many questions still surrounding exact scheduling and pick-up times. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
