Marlin ISD recognizes maintenance team

Marlin ISD has faced some unforeseen circumstances this year with the pandemic, but no one expected the snow storm that the State of Texas had last month. Despite the district closure and external conditions, the MISD maintenance team dug deep into the elbow grease to make sure every campus was ready for students to return.

“These individuals went above and beyond, working tirelessly to resolve the infrastructure issues we had as a result of the snow storm 2021,” said Dr. Stacy Parker, Executive Director of Student Services for MISD. “Our campuses sustained loss of water, not only in conjunction with the city’s water shortage, but through some busted pipes.” District officials are adamant that without their quick thinking and timely actions, there may have been a lot more damage.

“I would like to publicly commend Mr. Vince Margoitta and his team for going above and beyond to make our district’s facilities safe and operational,” Superintendent Dr. Darryl Henson said in an email to the district. “The maintenance team’s hard work and long hours have made it possible for our students to return to the classroom.“

The team was recognized by the Board of Managers and presented with certificates recognizing their efforts on behalf of the entire district.
