Marlin Juneteenth Organization holds COVID-19 Walk

Marlin TX Juneteenth Organization held it’s First Annual COVID-19 Walk on Dec. 3.

The walk was held in Marlin and sponsored by the Juneteenth Organization. 

The guest speaker was Mr. Omar Garcia, a health professional of the Baylor Scott and White Infections Disease Control Center. He presented information and education on the COVID-19 strands. Funding for the event was raised through donation and the selling of “Special T-Shirts. 

Participants included citizens of Marlin along with several members of the community who suffered from COVID-19. 

Finally, there was a Big Balloon release at the end.

All proceeds were then used to support the local Golden Years Nursing And Rehabilitation Center in Marlin. 

The Juneteenth Organization purchased sweaters and delivered them to the Nursing Home just in time for the cold and winter months ahead.

Marlin Juneteenth Organization wants to say thank you to the community and all those who participated.
