Marlin man arrested in chase

A Marlin man led deputies on an hour-long chase early Tuesday, May 21, refusing to stop even after spike strips flattened all four of his pickup truck’s tires. He was booked into the McLennan County Jail Wednesday in lieu of bonds totaling $255,000 and charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. McLennan County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Joseph Dale Dulock, 60, near the intersection of State Highway 6 and Farmto-Market Road 185 at around 3 a.m. Tuesday after the pickup truck Dulock was driving skidded off the roadway and crashed. A deputy reported trying to stop the pickup for a traffic violation at around 1:45 a.m. on the China Spring Highway, but the driver refused to stop. The deputy chased the pickup into Bosque County where the driver turned north on State Highway 56. At one point, the driver pulled off the state highway and tried to elude his pursuers on back roads, but soon ended up back on Highway 56 headed toward Valley Mills.
