Marlin man killed in single-vehicle crash

A Marlin man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Sunday night.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Ryan Howard, on Sunday, Jan. 19, at approximately 10:05 p.m., a single-vehicle crash occurred on FM 147, approximately 2.3 miles east of Marlin.

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to the scene.

A Dodge Challenger traveling westbound, for an unknown reason, drove onto the wrong side of the road, went off-road, and struck a tree. After striking the tree, the vehicle overturned multiple times.

The driver Christopher Lang, 32, of Marlin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The DPS reminds everyone that speeding increases the degree of crash severity leading to more severe injuries. Speeding can also increase the fuel consumption of your vehicle, requiring you to spend more money on fuel.
