McLennan County Harvest Celebration set Sept. 29 in Crawford

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s second annual McLennan County Harvest Celebration will be Sept. 29 in Crawford.

The event for agricultural producers will start with onsite registration at 4:30 p.m. at the Crawford Community Center, 8542 E. Fourth St. The program will conclude around 8:30 p.m.

There is no cost to attend but participants are requested to call the AgriLife Extension office in McLennan County at 254-757-5180 to RSVP no later than Sept. 23.

A steak meal will be served. Refreshments are courtesy of McLennan County Row Crop Committee and Lone Star Ag Credit.

“The highlight of the event will be our keynote speaker, Dr. Don Renchie, who will speak on ‘Ag Today, Tomorrow and in the Future,’” said Shane McLellan, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent, McLennan County.

Renchie, Ph.D., is the AgriLife Extension pesticide safety program coordinator in the Agricultural and Environmental Safety Unit, Bryan-College Station.

McLellan said this is a couples’ program and attendees are invited to bring their spouses. There will also be entertainment, vendors and sponsors that participants may visit with. There will be big ticket door prizes given away at the conclusion of the event.
