New Tanker Rolls Into Marlin VFD
The Marlin Volunteer Fire Department is the proud owner of a new 3,000-gallon tanker truck, after pushing the purchase into the station on Saturday, Dec. 20.
Afforded through a $300,000 grant with Texas A&M Forestry Service, plus the remaining balance of $102,000 paid by Falls County ESD 1, the truck is sure to be a major asset in rural fires without a readily available water source on scene.
ESD 1 President Bill Range noted that a feature of the Tanker Truck allows it to unhook from the tank and go back for more water.
“This new truck will significantly elevate service in the Marlin and eastern Falls County area,” Range said. “The ESD stepped up to complete the deal requiring $102,000 in cash because we felt like it is a good long-term investment in our community.”
