Rotary International welcomes Rhonda Milton

On Sept. 6 Rhonda Milton, MISD Elementary School Dean of Students, stated, “I pledge to advance the Object of Rotary and to exemplify Rotary’s maxim: SERVICE ABOVE SELF.”

At that moment, Rhonda Milton became the newest member of not only Rotary Club of Marlin but also of the worldwide Rotary International organization.

Rhonda Milton follows in her father’s steps.

“My father’s name is Napoleon Theo Milton Jr.,” Showing a photograph, she explained. “This image was taken at his installation as Charter President for the Nimba Rotary Chapter of the Rotary Club in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa.”

Rotary is a dynamic organization of over 1.2 million individuals, offering many opportunities for friendship and service.

Rotary’s ideal of service is based on the Five Avenues of Service – Club, Vocational, Community, International and New Generations – that comprise Rotary International’s philosophical cornerstone. The Rotary Club of Marlin carries out efforts along each avenue in support of the Object of Rotary.

Guiding principles provide Rotarians with a strong, common purpose and direction. They serve as a foundation for Rotarian relationships with each other and the action taken in the world. “Of the things we think, say or do: 1) Is it the TRUTH? 2) Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

Rhonda Milton was welcomed to Rotary International - to the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
