Sheriff’s Office warns of scam

The Falls County Sheriff’s Office would like to make everyone aware of a male individual impersonating law enforcement, calling residents of the county, stating that they failed to appear in court and owed money, requesting the victims to go to a local service station to send money to the caller. The numbers used by the caller did come back to local law enforcement agencies. 

Be advised, no law enforcement department, not the Falls County Sheriff’s Office, not Marlin Police nor any other agency will call requesting to send money to avoid jail time. 

Do not send money to anyone claiming to be law enforcement. If you recieve any of these calls, please contact the Falls County Sheriff’s Office, or the Marlin Police Department.
