Texas A&M Health providing free colonoscopies for uninsured

During National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Texas A&M Health would like to remind the community that they provide free colonoscopies for uninsured or underinsured low-income individuals, age 45 and older, who live in a 17-county region with funds from the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas.

All recommended COVID-related procedures have been put into place to ensure the safety of patients and clinical staff.

Individuals also have the ability to request a free at-home fecal test. Colorectal cancer is highly treatable when caught early (remove a polyp), but mortality increases significantly as diagnosis is delayed.

Residents of 17 Counties-Brazos, Burleson, Falls, Freestone, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Leon, Limestone, Madison, Milam, Montgomery, Robertson, Trinity, Waller, Walker, and Washington.

They will offer free colonoscopies for the uninsured or underinsured low-income persons; gas cards provided for those driving more than 80 miles to-and-from their colonoscopy appointment.

The colonoscopies are available at Texas A&M Health Family Care Clinic (COVID prevention strategies are in place) or you can request a free at-home fecal test.

To schedule an appointment call (979) 436-0443.
