Traffic stop leads to DWI arrest

Falls County deputies made an arrest for drunk driving on July 7.

According to the Falls County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday night, July 7, while on patrol in Rosebud, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for erratic driving on Highway 77 in the city limits.

Deputies contacted the driver, Tracy Ellison, and observed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. Deputies conducted a roadside investigation and determined that Ellison was impaired. Ellison was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Once at the jail a breath sample revealed that Ellison was nearly double times the legal limit.

The Falls County Sheriff’s Office employs deputies that specialize in impaired driving enforcement.

They would like to remind everyone that if you plan on drinking, please plan a safe way to get home. Drunk driving causes thousands of deaths every year across this country. If you drink and drive you will go to jail.
