Update on Marlin water

UPDATE from Mayor Lofton:

The Marlin Water Plant is now running and producing water. It is taking time because the pipes are very cold and it is a slow flow. They cannot go up on the flow which will make it a slow process but you should be getting pressure. Water is being pumped into town at this time. Hopefully, by morning, water pressure should be fully restored to all citizens as the towers are filled. The plant operators are not able to see the tower levels due to the frozen temperatures that are affecting their visibility at the plant. It will take time for all the towers to fill. Please remain patient as this process takes place. Barring no further unforeseen issues, we should have full restoration of water in the morning. For those who have water, please continue to ration water as this will allow the towers to fill quicker. Also, remember that we are under a boil water notice until lifted by TCEQ.

The power is currently out at the Marlin Men's Civic building. We are not able to use this as a shelter at this time.
