(AUSTIN) — The Texas Comptroller’s office approved and paid out a record $422.4 million in unclaimed property during the past fiscal year, Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today.

It took some time, but a set of new laws and rules passed by the Texas Legislature in 2023 went into effect on Sept. 1, the Houston Chronicle reported.
