Kathryn Estep, 61, of Marlin, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at her residence with her loving family by her side. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Marlin with the Reverend David Harlow officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 ‚ 5:00 PM, on Saturday, October 1st at Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Estep was born on December 23, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Leroy and Louise LaVerne (Harvey) Gassett. She served her country in the United States Navy where she met the love of her life, Michael Estep; they were married on September 21, 1974 in Honolulu, Hawaii and they celebrated over 42 wonderful years together. Mrs. Estep was a retired public school teacher, she loved to travel and write; she has published a children‚ book but her true love was her family. She was a member of the Falls Community Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion, Delta Kappa Gama Society International, Beta NU Chapter #61 and the First Baptist Church. Her parents and granddaughter; Madeline Grace, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband; Reverend Michael Estep, son; Lee Estep and his wife, Terri, daughter; Cora Padilla and her husband, Mario, brother; Charles Gassett and his wife, Lisa, grandsons; Matthew Estep, Michael Estep and Joaquin Padilla, granddaughter; Magdalena Padilla, niece; Rebecca Gassett, nephew; Michael Gassett and numerous dear friends.
