Joe was born June 13, 1938, to Sallie Adair Seymour Holloway and Thomas Oltorf Holloway in Marlin, Texas. After graduation from Marlin High School, Joe attended Sam Houston University in Huntsville, Texas. He graduated with a degree in economics.

After graduation, Joe returned home to work alongside his father and grandfather in the family business, Holloway & Son Men’s Outfitters.

Joe was a born salesman and later continued his career in sales in Austin, Waco, and San Antonio.

His love of antique furniture led him to the furniture department of Dillards in San Antonio. He spent many years selling beautiful things and retired from Dillards in July 2000. Retirement gave Joe more time to spend gardening, golfing, and refinishing antique furniture.

In 2003, Joe moved to Corpus Christi to be closer to his first grandchild.

Joe had many fond memories of summer days spent at his cousin’s beach house in Port Aransas, so moving to Corpus Christi was only natural. He became an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church and made many close friends there. Joe also volunteered at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Adair Apple (Matt; and his son, John Holloway (Courtney); his grandchildren, McKayla and Audrey Apple, Gracie and Lillie Holloway.

Joe is also survived by his ex-wife, Judy Pitts Hydrick, the mother of his children. Joe was a kind-hearted person, a loving father, and a man of God. He is sorely missed.
