Donald W. Lewis

Donald W. Lewis passed away peacefully after battling cancer on July 30, 2017. The family had visitation on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home. Graveside services were held Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Donald was born January 2, 1943 to Cecil Keith and Gladys Wells Lewis in Briary, Texas. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Keith and Gladys Wells Lewis; sisters, Nellie Bishop, Vertia Hegefeld and Margie Blackwell and his brother, Billy Joe Lewis. Over the years he enjoyed being involved in Little League, and also loved fishing, hunting, and playing dominoes. He owned Stein & Son Paint Contractors for several years. Donald always said not to cheat, steal, or lie to him; but if you needed anything he would give you the shirt off his back. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Marlin for over 50 years and was also involved in starting the Marlin JC’s Association. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Lewis; son, Beau Lewis and his wife, Jeannie; daughter, Donna Lewis; grandchildren, Jeremy Gonzales, Josh Lewis, Jenna Lewis, Christina Howard, and Misty Munday; great-grandchildren, Alex, Brailyn and Sheri; sister, Grace Baker and several nieces, nephews and numerous close friends.
