Vera Elaine (Locke) Williams

Vera Elaine (Locke) Williams, age 65, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 in Leroy, Texas. Family received friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, at Adams Funeral Home, Marlin, Texas. Services were Tuesday, October 24, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 264 County Road 143 near Riesel, Texas. Vera was born September 11, 1952 to Louis Walter and Irene (Holle) Locke in Marlin, Texas. She grew up in the area and graduated from Marlin High School. Vera served as a teacher’s aide and nurse’s aide while working in the education and healthcare systems for many years. She spent her early adult years enjoying her true passion as a homemaker and being a mother to her three daughters. Vera enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her chickens (which were certainly pets) and spending time outdoors with her family. Above all, what remained constant throughout her entire life was her spirituality. Her belief in God was evident in every aspect of her life. Her faith was sustained and unquestioning regardless of any hardships she faced. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Walter and Irene (Holle) Locke; and her sister, Janie Irene Locke. Vera leaves behind her Daughters, Carol Lance and husband, Harold of Waco, Rachel Williams of Waco, Emma Cotten and husband, Erich of Robinson; Grandchildren, Nathan Taylor, Christopher Taylor and Alexander Harper; Brothers, Louis Locke, Jr. and wife, Joyce of West, Fred Locke and wife, Donna of Leroy, Don Locke and wife, Pauline of Leroy, and Dan Locke and wife, Bertha of Hubbard; numerous nieces and nephews and her four legged companion, Tink.
