One-year anniversary of Lakeview fire remembered
On November 30 2016, at approximately 10:00 p.m. Marlin Firefighters responded to a call about the fire that had erupted inside the Lakeview Restaurant.
Upon arrival, the City of Marlin Fire Department called in assistance from the Marlin Volunteer Fire Department to help battle the flames.
After finally getting the fire to die down, after over an hour, it was determined that the fire had originally started in the main dining area.
Located in the front of the main entrance, initially the exact cause of the fire was undetermined. However, after further investigation it was determined that the fire was caused by a pile of hot cleaning rags that had been dropped and left in a bucket full of combustible chemicals.
