Emergency crews respond to accidents

Emergency crews responded to two separate crashes in Falls County on Sept. 11.

The first accident was at 3 a.m. on County Road 159 near FM 1240. A pickup truck left the roadway at a bridge near Big Creek that rolled resulting in two people being air lifted and one deceased. The Texas Department Of Public Safety is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash. 

Emergency crews that responded included Marlin VFD, City of Marlin Fire, Mart Fire, Limestone County Fire, Falls County Constable Pct.1

On FM 147 and FM 1240 at about 5 a.m. a vehicle left the roadway resulting in what appeared to be an ejection leaving one person deceased. Deputies, Troopers, Marlin VFD and Falls County Constable Precinct 1 attempted life saving measures on the person but were unsuccessful. Names to the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
