BBQ SANDWICH FUNDRAISER FOR MARLIN VFD
The Marlin Volunteer Fire Department will host a BBQ sandwich fundraiser on Sunday, June 29, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until sold out.
The $15 plate includes a slow smoked beef brisket sandwich, chips, a drink and dessert. Both dine-in and carry-out options will be available. A silent auction and raffle will also be held, with both ending at 2 p.m. The event will take place at 3172 State Highway 6 in Marlin.
DAVILLA COMMUNITY CENTER MARKET DAY
The Davilla Community Center will host Market Day on Saturday, May 31, and Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. The event will take place at the community center and is open to the public.
MARLIN ART LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL DROP A ROCK DAY
Marlin Art League is ready to Rock, the Town of Marlin. MAL will be bringing their artistic and creative talents to the community, this July. Members will be applying their talents to Painting Rocks of all shapes and sizes. the decorated rocks will be distributed around town, here, there and everywhere. Find a rock leave it, keep it or leave it somewhere else. July 3rd is International Drop a Rock Day, and the Marlin Art League is ready to drop their Rocks.

Voter Registration empowered by Citizens Empowerment Project will be held every third Saturday at 3 p.m. at Pauline and Jane Chilton Library, 400 Oaks Street in Marlin.
MEALS ON WHEELS GOLINDA
The City of Golinda is excited as the Meals on Wheels Waco will service its area. Everyone is invited to the Golinda Senior Activities Center, 7039 Golinda Drive, every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Golinda City Hall, starting Jan. 28, 2025. AMERICAN LEGION
American Legion Post #31 will be meeting in a new location at the Falls County Historical Museum, 145 Heritage Row in Marlin on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. They would like to remind the public of three flag disposal locations in Marlin: Judge Jay T Elliott’s Office in the Falls County Courthouse, Marlin City Hall and the Marlin Democrat News Office.
MARLIN SENIOR CENTER
Marlin Senior Center hosts dominoes from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and Thursday; Bingo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. The Jamboree is held every third Saturday from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee. The building is also available for rent. The fee is $200 a day and a $100 deposit.
