Marlin Fire Chief Justin Parker Announces Resignation After 17 Years of Service
Longtime Marlin Fire Chief Justin Parker announced his resignation Tuesday during the City Council’s regularly scheduled meeting, closing out nearly two decades of service to the community.
Parker, who also serves as the city’s emergency management coordinator, began his career with Marlin in 2008 as an entry-level firefighter. He rose through the ranks before being appointed fire chief in 2014.
In addition to his city role, Parker has served the community as a part-time EMT with Falls County EMS and as a volunteer firefighter with the Marlin Volunteer Fire Department.
Parker said he is stepping down after accepting a full-time position with a growing Central Texas fire department. He plans to remain in the Marlin area and continue volunteering with the Marlin Volunteer Fire Department.
City officials expressed their gratitude for Parker’s leadership and service. “We genuinely appreciate his nearly two decades of service to our community and wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” the city said in a statement.
