Rep. Angelia Orr Donates 10 Commandments Posters for Every Classroom in House District 13
AUSTIN — State Representative Angelia Orr has donated and mailed posters displaying the Ten Commandments to all available school districts across House District 13. Each school district will receive enough posters to ensure that every classroom is covered.
This spring, during the Regular Legislative Session, Rep. Orr co-authored SB 10, which requires every Texas classroom to visibly display a poster of the Ten Commandments. The law specifies that school districts are required to accept donations.
“Our nation and our state were founded on the Judeo-Christian values clearly laid out in the Ten Commandments,” Orr said. “What a great reminder for Texas children to look up from their desks and see the foundation of truth and love displayed. We are taking our classrooms back from those who wish to cast aside God, and ensuring the next generation knows the values our great nation was built upon.”
Rep. Orr has consistently championed faithbased initiatives in the Texas House. She is also a proud co-author of SB 11, which requires schools to establish a daily period of optional prayer and Bible reading, empowering students who wish to practice their faith during the school day.
Orr represents House District 13, which includes Bosque, Falls, Hill, Leon, Freestone, Limestone, and McLennan counties. A committed public servant, wife, mother, and small businesswoman, she continues to stand for the values that matter most to the people of HD 13 and rural Texas.
