118th Annual Westphalia Picnic Held

The 118th Annual Westphalia Picnic took place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia, Texas. This longstanding tradition offered a day filled with fun, food, and festivities for all ages.

The picnic began at 10:30 a.m. with a lively music performance by the Praha Brothers, who entertained guests until 1 p.m. At the same time, visitors enjoyed delicious homemade food, including plates of fried chicken, sausage, Westphalia noodles, green beans, and coleslaw, all for $15. These meals were served inside the dining hall from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Guests also had the opportunity to purchase homemade sausage and explore the Little School Museum, which was open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For entertainment, the picnic featured a variety of games, including bingo, a fish pond, and a kids’ train ride, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Additionally, a shuttle service ran from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to transport attendees to and from the event.

A highlight of the day was the live auction, which began at 1 p.m. Participants were able to preview the items up for bid on Facebook prior to the event. The picnic also featured a raffle drawing with exciting prizes.

The event was a success, offering something for everyone and drawing both the Westphalia community and visitors from beyond.
