Bulldogs Turning Things Around

The Marlin Bulldogs started the season 0-5 and were 0-6 after their district debut, but have won two out of their last three football games and are currently 2-1 in district play and are in third place, with two more district games to play. After falling to Crawford in their district opener, the Bulldogs are on a two-game win streak, beating Bruce-ville Eddy in Week 8, and Riesel in Week 9.

Marlin was one touchdown away from tying their district game with Crawford, and very easily could be tied for first place at 3-0 with Rosebud- Lott.

The Bulldogs finished the 2024 season 10-4, and 5-0 in district, making it to the regional finals round in the playoffs.

If the team wins their final two games, they could finish high in the seeding in their district, but would need to win the first three rounds of playoff games to at least gain a .500 record percentage, which would basically put them at 77.

Over the past four seasons, the Bulldogs have winning records, finishing as district champs the in 2023 (11-3), and 2024 (10-4), and runnerups in 2021 (11-4) and 2022 (7-5).

Since the program began back in 1907, Marlin has appeared in the playoffs 29 times, and in the state championship game twice. The last time they played in the state championship game was in 2003 against Atlanta.
