Volleyball Playoffs Continue This Week

The bi-district round is over, and a few teams ended their volleyball season, with only one making it to the Area round of the 2025 UIL Volleyball Playoffs.

The Buckholts Lady Badgers (12-8-1) finished their season as a bi-district finalist, after falling to the Fayetteville Lady Lions in three sets, 10-25, 4-25, 8-25. The Lady Badgers broke into the Class 2A rankings early in the season, ranking in the Top 15 at one point. The team finished third in district this season.

The Marlin Lady Bulldogs season came to an end after they lost to the Valley Mills Lady Eagles in three sets, 16-25, 12-25, 16-25, in the bi-district round of the Class 2A, DI playoffs. Marlin was the No. 4 seed from District 16-2A, and closed with a record of 15-19.

After battling all season, finishing third in District 16-2A, the Rosebud-Lott Lady Cougars took on the Bosqueville Lady Bulldogs in the bi-district round. The Lady Cougars put up a ferocious fight to the end before falling to Bosqueville in four sets, 18-25, 25-23, 1725, 15-25, last Thursday. RL ends the year with a 16-15 record overall.

The Thorndale Lady Dogs swept the Somerville Yeguas in the opening round of the 2025 volleyball playoffs, 25-11, 25-12, 25-15, to moving into the Area round. Thorndale was scheduled to play against the Flatonia Bulldogs on Monday, at Giddings High School.
