Falls Co S.O. Seizes Over 5 Lbs. Marijuana During Traffic Stop
On Nov. 13, a Falls County Sheriff Deputy conducted a traffic top in the City of Rosebud for a vehicle displaying expired registration. During the course of the stop, the deputy observed indicators of criminal activity and conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle.
The search resulted in the discovery and seizure of more than five (5) pounds of marijuana, along with associated packaging materials commonly used in the distribution of narcotics.
The driver, whose identity is being withheld pending formal charges, was taken into custody without incident. The suspect is expected to face charges including Possession of Marijuana > 5 lbs < 50 lbs, a felony under Texas law.
Sheriff Jason Campbell praised the deputy’s efforts, stating, “This is another example of our deputies remaining alert and attentive during routine enforcement activity. Their diligence keeps dangerous drugs off our streets and helps protect communities throughout Falls County.”
The case remains under investigation. No further details will be released at this time.
