Marlin Fire Dept. Extinguishes House Fire on Price St.

On Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 4:43 PM, the City of Marlin Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the intersection of Price and Quaid Streets within the city limits of Marlin. A request for additional personnel and equipment was immediately made to the Marlin Volunteer Fire Department. First arriving Marlin Police Department units reported heavy fire involvement. The first City of Marlin fire unit arrived on scene within 5 minutes of the initial alarm to find a single story, wood frame dwelling heavily involved in fire. The home’s occupant exited the structure prior to the arrival of emergency resources. The occupant, who sustained injuries, was transported to a local hospital. Falls County Emergency Management was notified and responded to assist the displaced occupant with obtaining relief services through the American Red Cross.

Due to the level of flame involvement, firefighters immediately launched defensive fire attack operations. A second responding fire unit, staffed by an off-duty City of Marlin firefighter, arrived on scene shortly behind the first pumper truck. Marlin Police Department personnel assisted firefighters with establishing water supply from a nearby fire hy- drant. Officers also provided traffic control and scene security throughout the incident. Three (3) units and five (5) personnel from the Marlin Volunteer Fire Department arrived and began assisting with fire attack operations. The fire was declared under control at 5:23 PM. Fire units and personnel remained on scene extinguishing hot spots until 7:39 PM.

A total of five (5) fire units and eight (8) firefighters controlled and extinguished this fire. City Medical standby services for fire and law enforcement personnel were provided by City Ambulance. At the time of this release, the fire’s cause remains under investigation.
