Marlin Christmas Parade Draws a Crowd

The City of Marlin shifted their annual Christmas parade from a Thursday to a Saturday this year, and the community showed up in force for the festive event downtown.

More than 30 vehicles participated in the parade led by Parade Marshal Jay Butler, plus the Marlin ISD Band, aka Sound of Thunder bringing a lively energy, ATVs, local law enforcement agencies and fire departments, plus seasonal superstars like Santa, the Grinch, a gingerbread man and a nutcracker.

The Parade Committee, composed of Tracy Dimerson, Candice Grams, Avery Burks and Kayci Nehring, worked with the Marlin Chamber President Liz Richardson and parade sponsors EDC of Marlin and H-E-B to make this event a success.

Winners chosen by anonymous judges are as follows: 1st Place Alexis Parsons 2nd Place Gospel Lighthouse Church 3rd Place Walmart Though the Christmas Parade in years past was traditionally held on a Thursday preceding Christmas, the Parade Committee intends to host this event on the second Saturday of December for years to come. Mark your calendar for next year’s Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 12, 2026, and reach out to Liz Richardson or a parade committee member if you want to help organize next year!
