County Election Prep: Know Who’s Running
The March 3 Republican Primary election will be here before we know it, and since the filing deadline has passed, we wanted to share a comprehensive list of Falls County candidates that will appear on the ballot when voters head to the polls. All candidates listed below are registered Republicans, except for a lone Democrat on the ballot, F.A. Green, Sr., who currently holds the Falls County Commissioner Pct. 2 position. He is being challenged by a Republican opponent (David Fitz).
CONTESTED RACES
Falls County Clerk: Elizabeth Coker-Perez is facing Vanessa L. Dodd in the race for County Clerk.
Falls County Chair (Republican Party): Incumbent Elizabeth J. Nelson is being challenged by Bill Range.
Falls County Commissioner, Pct. 2: David Fitz has filed for the Precinct 2 Commissioner seat, currently held by Democrat F.A. Green, Sr.
Falls County Commissioner, Pct. 4: Rodney Hall and incumbent Nita Wuebker are competing for the Precinct 4 Commissioner seat.
Falls County Justice of the Peace, Pct. 1: Incumbent Kaylah Rosas is challenged by Alexis Parsons.
Falls County Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2: Sarah Funderburk and James “Roy” Jackson are competing for the Precinct 2 JP seat.
UNCONTESTED RACES
Falls County Judge: Incumbent Jay T. Elliott.
Falls County District Clerk: Incumbent Laurie Reneau Smith.
Falls County Treasurer: Sheryl Odenbach Pringle has filed for the Treasurer’s position and is seeking election to the office.
