Basketball Weekly for Central Region

Basketball playoffs are almost here as schools battle out the last few district games.

Cameron

The Yoemen (11-14, 3-5) fell in a heartbreaker to Franklin 56-54 on Wednesday night and then defeated Thrall 51-35 on Friday night.

The Lady Yoe (12-17, 19) lost to Franklin 61-22 and Thrall 47-34 this past week.

Cameron played Rogers on Tuesday, Feb. 3. They have a bye this Friday, Feb. 6, before traveling to Academy next Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Thorndale

The Bulldogs (24-4, 80) dominated Rosebud-Lott 69-29 and McDade 96-25 this past week.

The Bulldogs are undefeated in district play and are ranked #8 in class 2A.

“Our goal is to win the rest of our district games,” Coach Michael Williams said.

The Lady Bulldogs (2013, 7-3) picked up two wins, defeating Rosebud-Lott 3626 and McDade 50-13.

“We are still in contention for district championship and we are currently the 1 seed in division 1,” Coach Doug Franklin said.

Thorndale had a bye on Tuesday, Feb. 3. The boys played Rogers on Tuesday night in a non-district game. They will host Granger on Friday, Feb. 6, before traveling to Holland next Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Milano

The Eagles (2-15, 2-5) fell to Granger 63-43. As of press time, there was no score available for the Holland game.

The Lady Eagles (4-27, 1-9) lost to Granger 59-32 and Holland 32-21 this past week.

Milano played Bartlett on Tuesday, Feb. 3. They have a bye this Friday, Feb. 6, before hosting Rosebud-Lott next Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Rosebud-Lott

The Cougars (15-11, 30) fell to Thorndale 69-29 and Granger 49-45 last week.

The Lady Cougars (1711, 6-3) lost to Thorndale 36-26 on Wednesday night and defeated Granger 44-38 on Friday night.

Rosebud-Lott played Holland on Tuesday, Feb. 3. They will host Bartlett on Friday, Feb. 6., before traveling to Milano next Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Marlin

The Bulldogs (11-16, 70) defeated Riesel 89-40 on Friday night.

The Lady Bulldogs (1810, 8-1) lost their first district game of the season on Friday night to Riesel 7259.

Marlin played Axtell on Tuesday night, Feb. 3. They will host Chilton on Friday night, Feb. 6, before traveling to Mart next Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Chilton

The Pirates (8-8, 5-2) defeated Moody on Friday night 51-33. There was no score available for the Mart game on Wednesday night.

The Lady Pirates (1911, 6-3) fell to Mart 43-33 and Moody 46-35 this past week.

Chilton played Bruceville-Eddy on Tuesday, Feb. 3. They will travel to Marlin on Friday night, Feb. 6, and then will host Riesel next Tuesday, Feb. 10.
