Basketball Weekly for Central Region

Basketball playoffs are almost here as schools battle out the last few district games.

Marlin

The Bulldogs (12-17, 81) defeated Axtell 60-39 on Tuesday night before losing their first district game of the season to Chilton on Friday night 49-37.

The Lady Bulldogs (2010, 10-1) defeated Axtell 52-39 and Chilton 39-32 this past week.

Marlin played Mart on Tuesday night, Feb. 10. The girls wrapped-up district play. The boys will travel to Moody Friday night, Feb. 13, before hosting Bruceville-Eddy next Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Chilton

The Pirates (11-8, 8-2) defeated Bruceville-Eddy 66-34 and Marlin 49-37 this past week.

The Lady Pirates (2012, 7-4) beat Bruceville-Eddy 50-13 on Tuesday night before falling to Marlin on Friday night 39-32.

Chilton played Riesel on Tuesday, Feb. 10. The Lady Pirates finished district play. The boys will wrap-up district play on Friday night, Feb. 13, at home against Axtell.

Rosebud-Lott

The Cougars (16-12, 46) defeated Holland 57-21 on Tuesday night and fell to Bartlett 48-36 on Friday night.

The Lady Cougars (1812, 7-4) beat Holland 43-40 and fell to Bartlett 57-54 last week.

Rosebud-Lott played Milano on Tuesday, Feb. 10. The girls finished district play. The boys will have a bye this Friday, Feb. 13, before traveling to McDade next Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Cameron

The Yoemen (12-14, 45) won a thriller against Rogers on Tuesday night by a basket, 49-47.

The Lady Yoe (12-18, 1-10) fell to Rogers 72-38 on Tuesday night.

Cameron played Lexington on Tuesday, Feb. 10. The girls ended the season with the game. The Yoe will play Rockdale this Friday, Feb. 13, before traveling to Academy next Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Thorndale

The Bulldogs (24-4, 90) are ranked #8 in the state in 2A by the TABC. They defeated Granger 60-32 on Friday night.

The Lady Dogs (20-14, 7-4) fell to Granger on Friday night 45-33.

Thorndale played Holland on Tuesday, Feb. 10. The girls wrapped-up district play. The Bulldogs will travel to Bartlett on Friday, Feb. 13, before hosting Milano next Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Milano

The Eagles (3-15, 3-5) had no scores posted for the week.

The Lady Eagles (4-28, 1-10) fell to Bartlett 49-23 on Tuesday night.

Milano played Rosebud-Lott on Tuesday, Feb.

10. The girls wrapped-up district play. They boys will host McDade this Friday, Feb. 13, before traveling to Thorndale next Tuesday, Feb. 17.
