Basketball Weekly for Central Region
Basketball playoffs for the girls are here and the boys will start next week.
Cameron
The Yoemen (13-15, 56) defeated Lexington 45-39 on Tuesday night before falling in a heartbreaker to Rockdale on Friday night by one, 47-46.
The Lady Yoe (12-19, 111) finished the season with their only district win over Lexington 35-20 this past week.
The Cameron boys traveled to Little River Academy to take on the Bees on Tuesday night, Feb. 17, to wrap-up district play.
Thorndale
The Bulldogs (26-4, 110) are ranked #8 in the state in 2A by the TABC. They defeated Holland 71-19 and Bartlett 61-30 this past week.
The Lady Dogs (21-14, 8-4) won a thriller over Holland last Tuesday night 26-25.
The Thorndale boys hosted Milano to wrap-up district play on Tuesday night, Feb. 17, before the playoffs. The girls played Schulenberg at Manor High School on Monday night, Feb. 16, in the Bi-District Championship.
Milano
The Eagles (3-17, 3-7) fell to Rosebud-Lott 47-36 on Tuesday night. There was no score reported for the Friday night game against McDade.
The Lady Eagles (4-29, 1-11) wrapped-up the season with a 60-23 loss to Rosebud-Lott.
The Milano boys played Thorndale on Tuesday night, Feb. 17, to wrap-up their season.
Rosebud-Lott
The Cougars (17-13, 56) defeated Milano 47-36 on Tuesday night. They played Hamilton in a nondistrict game on Friday night and lost 39-33.
The Lady Cougars (1912, 8-4) beat Milano 60-23 to finish district play before the playoffs.
The Rosebud-Lott boys traveled to McDade to wrap-up district play on Tuesday night, Feb. 17. The girls played Flatonia in the Bi-District Championship at Caldwell High School on Monday night, Feb. 16.
Marlin
The Bulldogs (14-17, 10-1) beat Mart 36-24 and Moody 71-52 this past week.
The Lady Bulldogs (2110, 11-1) defeated Mart 4131 to wrap-up district play on Tuesday night.
The Marlin boys hosted Bruceville-Eddy on Tuesday, Feb. 17, to finish district play. The girls played Mildred in the Bi-District Championship earlier this week.
Chilton
The Pirates (14-8, 9-2) beat Riesel 59-27. There was no score posted for the Axtell game on Friday night.
The Lady Pirates (2112, 8-4) defeated Riesel in a thriller in overtime 71-67 last Tuesday.
The Chilton girls played Frost in the Bi-District Championship on Monday night, Feb. 16.
