Basketball Weekly for Central Region

Basketball playoffs are coming to an end for many. The girls state championships will be held this weekend and the boys next weekend. For the Central Region, the Thorndale Bulldogs are the only team left playing.

Thorndale

The Bulldogs (29-4, 120) are ranked #8 in the state in 2A by the TABC. They defeated Bloomington 6936 in Bi-District and Sabine Pass 68-55 in the Area Championship.

Thorndale took on Port Aransas (29-5) in the Regional Semi-Final on Tuesday night, March 3, at 7:00 p.m. at Cuero High School. The winner will take on the winner of Hearne (28-7) and Harper (19-14) in the Regional Championship later this week.

Marlin The Bulldogs (15-18, 11-1) fell to Kerens 54-44 in the Bi-District Championship at Navarro College.

The Lady Bulldogs (2411, 11-1) defeated Woden 40-37 in the Regional Semi-Final before falling to San Augustine 45-33 in the Regional Championship.

Chilton

The Pirates (17-9, 10-2) defeated Frost 71-38 in the Bi-District Championship before falling to Martins Mill in the Area Championship 76-35.
