Falls County Trash and Tire Day Announced

The Falls County Commissioners Court met on March 23, 2026, Judge Jay Elliott presiding. Commissioners present were Milton Albright (Pct. 1), F. A. Green (Pct. 2), Jason Willberg (Pct. 3) and Nita Wuebker (Pct. 4). ADA Steve Sharp was also in attendance Minutes were approved from the March 9, 2026 meeting. In other matters, Commissioners approved (1) Adoption of the Title VI/Nondiscrimination Plan, Title VI and related statutes Nondiscrimination Statement and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and related federal and state regulations Transition Plan, (2) Ensuring lines placed in the right of way of County Roads do not interfere with road maintenance, the adoption of the road cut and utility/pipeline locations was approved for CR 368 and (3) the Racial Profiling Report submitted by Constable Marion Humphrey, Pct. 2. It was noted it is not the policy of this agency to make traffic stops in the routine performance of the officers’ official duties.

Pending the release of funds from the Texas Water Development Board, Commissioners approved the final payment concerning Outlay 9, TWDB Grant, Project #40002. After discussion, Commissioners approved the purchase of new scanners for the County Clerk’s Office and a Command Cloud, an inmate tracking system, agreement for the Sheriff’s Office. The inmate tracking system will be funded by the Commissary account. As a continued effort to modernize the Sheriff’s Office, using ICE funds for equipment, Commissioners approved the (1) purchase of eighteen new rifles and accessories and (2) purchase of drones (training included) from Axion Enterprise. Firearms to be replaced, including seizures, will be traded in. Sheryl Pringle, County Treasurer, requested serial numbers of the items.

Jeff Jackson, Road & Bridge Administrator, presented updates. The Falls County Trash & Tire Day will be Saturday, May 2, 2026, 8 a.m.- noon. Locations are the County Jail site and Collection Station in Lott. Being considered is the purchase of a tire shredder. He noted the signing off with FEMA an estimated $400K for five projects.

Commissioners approved the payment of all bills, budget amendments, and payroll. The next Commissioners’ meeting is Monday, April 13 at 9 a.m.
