“Feedback Fridays” to Continue, Now at 1912 Coffee and Bites
Managing Editor of Marlin Democrat, Alex Montoya, is excited to announce the return of “Feedback Fridays” after a two week break. “Feedback Fridays” began shortly after Montoya’s appointment as Managing Editor in the Fall of 2025, an open invitation for the Marlin community to stop by for office hours from 9 a.m. - noon. Though the Marlin Democrat office at 251 Live Oak has been closed indefinitely by new owners Times Local Media Group, Montoya has established a partnership with 1912 Coffee and Bites that will facilitate continued conversations with the local community, now with coffee on the menu!
“Owner Mike Williams has been so welcoming, and graciously allowed me a private space to work at his coffee shop for the past two Fridays and moving forward,” Montoya said. “I have enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, the tasty coldbrews and the homemade banana walnut bread. I look forward to welcoming visitors in his shop on Friday mornings to discuss story ideas, coverage needs and opportunities to better serve Marlin. I’ll even buy your coffee for your first visit!”
1912 Coffee and Bites is located in downtown Marlin at 116 Winter Street, and is open 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
