Rotary Global Grants Discussed
On May 6, the Rotary Club of Marlin’s program, facilitated by Rotarian Letitia Estep, featured Guest Speaker Mayor Rotarian Susan Byrd.
Special guest was District 5870 Governor-Elect Jeff Coleman (Pflugerville), welcomed by Marlin Rotary Club President Chip Parmer.
The subject of discourse was Marlin’s severely restricted water production capabilities and the Rotary Global Grants.
Rotary members contribute their skills, expertise and resources to help solve some of the world’s toughest problems. From providing clean water to promoting peace worldwide, Rotary Foundation grants bring service project ideas to life by providing funding of large-scale, sustainable international projects that deliver longterm solutions in areas like clean water, health, and education. They focus on Rotary’s core areas: promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies and protecting the environment.
