Allie Joe Homola Sr.

Allie Joe Homola Sr., 92 of Lott, died Thursday July 29, 2021, at his residence. 

Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Don Fulton officiated. Burial was in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud.

Mr. Homola was born June 13, 1929, in Stairtown to Charles and Gladys Garner Homola Sr. He graduated from Prairie Lee High School and Southwest Texas State University with a degree in Nuclear Physics. He married Lorraine Lambert on Feb. 10, 1949. He worked as a computer technician for Mobil Oil Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lott.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Carothers; one brother and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Homola of Lott; one son, Allie Joe Homola Jr. and wife Pat of Midland; four daughters, Amy Vandiver and Darla Murray, both of Lott, Tammie Featherston and husband Austin of Tyler, and Malinda Redmon and husband Billy of Monahans; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Lott or to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at the funeral home.
