Benjamin J. Markowski

Benjamin J. Markowski, 86, passed away surrounded by family Saturday, May 4, 2019, in Waco. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Adams Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Fulton officiating.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019, also at Adams Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Ben was born March 30, 1933, to Bill and Alice (Slafka) Markowski in Bremond. Ben Married Shirley (Wilson) on Nov. 15, 1958, and celebrated 60 years of marriage. He retired from Marlin Fire Department with 35 years of service and served in the

Army stationed in Germany. Benjamin J. Markowski was preceded in death by son, Kirk Markowski; parents; brothers, Edmond and Fred; sister, Helen Louise Burda; and in-laws, John and Callie Wilson. Survivors include wife Shirley; son, Pee-Wee Markowski; daughter, Mary Jane Markowski; granddaughter, Callie Burgess and husband Cory; great-granddaughter, Cadence and greatgrandson, Camden; brothers, Ronnie, Stanley and wife Bonnie; sisters, Patsy Nemec and JoAn Slafka; sisters-in-law, Edmond’s wife Evelyn and Fred’s wife Evelyn; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Kiehl and Dr. Smith with Baylor Scott and White, the staff at Wesley Woods and Providence Hospice for the loving care given to Ben.
