Bernhard Neumann Jr., of Mooreville, TX joined his family with the Lord, on Saturday, January 28, 2017. Funeral services were held at the Mooreville United Methodist Church on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Lynn Starnes and Rev. Jerry Freedman officiating. A Masonic burial will follow immediately at the Mooreville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3421 Robinson Drive, Waco. Bernhard was born in Perry, TX to B.A. and Lottie Neumann on December 28, 1932. At the age of 5 he moved with his family to Mooreville, TX; where he would remain until his passing. He graduated from Chilton High School, and then attended Tarleton State where he was a Commander of the Color Guard and member of The Tarleton ROTC Wainwright Rifle Drill Team. Bernhard returned to Mooreville to begin his life of farming and ranching, and in 1952 he married Bobbie Radle. They remained side by side for 64 years, raising their two daughters Karyn and Janet, who they deeply loved. Bernhard’s constant devotion to the Lord was seen in his daily life, but was most evident as he was leading worship at the Mooreville United Methodist Church, where he was the Song Leader for many years. He was called to be a part of the Prison Ministry team, where he led others to Christ for 15 years. Mr. Neumann was a visible and active member of the community. He served as a past President of the Falls County Farm Bureau, a member of the Falls County Appraisal Board, and was County Commissioner. He continued his service to others as a faithful member of the Chilton Masonic Lodge, Carolina Lodge, Waco York Rites and Scottish Rites. Bernhard enjoyed attending Saturday night gospel singing at many of the local churches, as well as being “Big Daddy” watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play ball. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers David and Donald, and his daughter Janet. He is survived by his loving wife Bobbie, his brother Thomas Neumann and his sons Jon and Jason, his daughter Karyn Bellar and son-in-law Steve, his son-in-law Jesse Niemeyer, granddaughter Jessica Stone and her husband Randy, grandsons Jacob Niemeyer and his wife Amanda and Joshua Niemeyer and his wife Stacie, as well as the great grandchildren, Hunter, Emmalee, Trigger, Hayes, and Timber. Pallbearers will be Carroll Huber, Robert Morrison, Pat Estes, Mike Davis, Stan Parker, and Ron Barbera.
